Gyorko, Wong (sore shoulder), Pham & Adams not in the starting lineup. As Jen tweeted, the same lineup as yesterday. So yeah, just win…OK?

How can Moss be kept in when he has slumped so poorly? Surely Pham or Hazelbaker would be a better bet. Predictably he got out with runners on 2nd and 3rd with a very lame strikeout. Time is running out and decisions need to be made to win, not based on loyalty or past achievements.

Yeah buddy, Moss surely needed to be benched these last few games….not that it really matters anymore.
Btw? I didn’t understand why it wasn’t an out, when that one hit glanced off Oh’s glove but then right into GGarcia’s glove without touching the ground. I must’ve missed something.
And Grichuk shouldda’ had that outfield hit. Slow-mo showed it was right in the palm of his glove. Just that he wasn’t able hold on to it.

Pitching and defense issues all year long. And you can throw in base running with some poor bench decisions. The deck chairs are now in the water and the band is getting wet.

Well this is another issue – if Martinez pitches Friday would he be ready for a tie breaker with SF or the WC game next week? If not with Waino going on Sunday it would be left to Leake, Reyes or Garcia. Then the Giants could eliminate us for the 3rd time in 5 seasons! Probably won’t get that far anyway I guess.

Hope springs eternal…and St Louis is all a buzz now, since the Cards may have a better chance against the Pirates than the Giants will have vs the Dodgers, which could lead to a tie for the second place WC slot.
I don’t think there’s any doubt that CMart & Reyes will be used whenever possible, over anybody else. Who knows….the Cards might mix it up & piggy-back on short rest? MM has previously stated that a even a “start by committee” isn’t out of the question. An inning or two, a coupla’ days in a row?
Yadi’s hit in the 9th sure was odd. Technically, the umps could’ve pointed out it was a ground-rule double or the Reds’ manager could’ve challenged the call. Granted, it was difficult to see. But nobody said anything, so oops….the Cards got the win.

Check it out. Holliday’s being activated today. Mo said they’re not picking up his option for next year, so he wants Holliday to have a chance to say g’bye to his fans, hopefully with one last at-bat.

Well he deserves a good farewell. Should have traded to AL as DH as now he will walk for nothing. But it’s a good call not to resign as health limits his contributions especially in the field.

No, no, no. Holliday had that no-trade clause in his contract, remember? So Mo couldn’t have traded him even if he’d wanted to. I guess the 7yr/$120M contract Matt originally signed with the Birds, was good enuf’ money-wise. Besides, Holliday’s said all along that he’d truly like to retire as a Cardinal.
Moss back in tonite in LF. Carp on 1st, Gyorko at 2B with the rest of the usual suspects.
