I have them too……..there on my roof.
If I read one more crap story about Garcia going for his 4th victory in Aug. or we,ve hit X amount of homers as a team, I’ll be sick. NOBODY cares, just win the games you’re suppose to win. And stop crapping the bed everytime you start a positive trend.
MLB’s schedule gives you the A’s followed by Milwaukee and suddenly you play like you’re facing the 1927 Yankees.
Oh, and by the way the Yanks and their youth are fun to watch. If they make it to the playoffs that will be the story of 2016.

I know. You should see all the constant Cardinal winning history stuff being rehashed on our local TV and even on the radio. It’s never ending. No one says much about what the Red Birds are doing right now.
Post-game, MM said Leake will be out for a while with the shingles-thing. So they’ll be calling up AAA pitchers. That’s probably been the plan all along, since there are only 3 more days anyway, ’til the rosters can expand.
Shingles by the way, typically presents itself in those over 50. Mostly due to a person’s immune system weakening as they age. However, younger people can also develop shingles when their immune systems becomes compromised due to high stress, prolonged fatigue, certain meds, etc.

I think there is a danger they will drift, using those glory days to sell for a few years while dollars roll in. Until crowds dwindle a bit with the weak performances. There is very little they can tweak for this season unfortunately. Will see how they fare with the Brewers. At least they are on the road so they stand a chance I guess.

Right on, Bob. No doubt about it. The Cards ownership is trying to keep those $$$ rolling in.

Two more home series = two more lost series. what a reward for paying fans. Down to 2 starters really with Waino out of the mix effectiveness wise. Martinez is their only legitimate MLB starter and Garcia is uneven – and the bullpen is wilting too. Without the Marlins weak weekend they would have dropped in the Wild Card and even without Melanson the Bucs are nipping at their heels…

The team is a declining, aging core (Yadi, Waino, Matt H. and Peralta) journeymen some of whom are over performing (Gyorko, Moss) and unproven triple A players. There are no reliable bullpen arms apparently as Bowman and Siegrist just proved.

Well yeah, Bob…you could say that. But the aging core will likely carry the Birds for another year or two. And in that time? There should be another few stand-out Triple-A players (like Diaz) that come along…who’ll be able to support those positions that need high-quality back-ups…..ultimately replacing them.
Look how things happened this year. IF it weren’t for injuries….we probably wouldn’t have seen outfielder Hazelbaker or infielder GGarcia, for example. Both left-handed hitters, by the way.
And maybe MM was/is right about Grichuk. Who knows…he could become a consistent stand-out next season.
Also….I’m not sure what you mean by tagging somebody as an “over-performer”. Isn’t that a good thing?
