My goodness. After Heyward hit into a double play? You could hear booing from some of the Chicago fans.

This is what we really have to worry about now – the Cubs can afford expensive mistakes and continue merrily with more signings. There is no way the low cost tinkering we have used for the past 20 years or so will work any longer in this division.

Well the fielding almost caught up with them in the 5th – Piscotty misplaying that flyball into a double in CF and Peralta not having a clue how to apply the tag at third. Too much juggling leaving no one confident and comfortable out there. Great play on the bunt though by Carlos to save the inning.

Right on. Martinez really rocked that play! I believe he started out as a SS originally, before he tried becoming a pitcher. He’s quite athletic & coordinated.
And I know. Peralta somehow misplayed that tag at 3B.

but they didn’t escape with that botched ground ball by Peralta and bad cutoff and throw by Martinez in the 6th. Really handed those runs away.

And that game was given away with bad fundamentals all around – including another pick-off on the basepaths. Milkasz seems to be onto something.

Again defense hurt us along with poor base running. The “anti” Cardinal Way.
Another hit batter by Cub’s pitching. Madden says he feels bad…….KMA ya lieing little turd!!!!

Like my earlier point about the Marlins HBP seems to be a fool proof tactic for some teams to get a competitive edge. Every series with the Cubs they cork a few players without any consequences.

And morale seems to be diminishing steadily —–
