Great. NOW, let’s see how the Cards do without Pena AND Fryer. Terrific move, guys. Aren’t cha’ glad you let Fryer go?
Heck, right after Mo first signed Pena? At 5′ 9″ & 240+lbs….I think most ANY orthopedist would’ve told you that squatting constantly, carrying all that extra weight, would very likely cause knee issues. And it’d probably be sooner than later, too.

Yes and now Carpenter has left with a back problem .Just before his all star trip too.Thank goodness for Diaz. He should replace Carp if Matt cannot make it.

Not looking good for the team overall. The Fryer move will haunt them for some time to come.

If I were Carp, I’d be glad about the timing. A minor oblique-strain simply means he gets to take a needed rest instead of playing the All Star Game. (Provided of course, that’s all it is.) He made the All-Star roster, and essentially….that’s all that counts.
I’m thinking that the younger guys, Wong, GGarcia, Piscotty, Diaz, Grichuk & Adams would all love to start churning out wins on their own. Merely to show the rest of the veteran guys, they have their backs. That’s headline stuff. “Youngsters Carry Cards Thru Injuries”. Ya’ never know. ~grin~
However, I’m still steaming from the Fryer thing. I mean, how dumb to let him go when you consider Pena’s height & weight….not to mention his BA & arm. I’ll bet Pena could drop almost 100 lbs, and still look normal since he’s only 5′ 9″, if that.
