Oh giving up runs today. Not too many hopeful signs left now.

1 of 3 from the Cubs. Yeah we’re a playoff team……………not!!!!

Yep. I thought for sure we’d be good with Oh in…but nope. Pretty good game to watch, actually. We just didn’t win.
Wonder when Reyes will be called up? Even Tui might make it up before the end of the season, considering.
Adams has been looking good lately, ya’ have to admit.
Couldn’t figure out why somebody would swing, on a 3-0. (Talkin’ to YOU Mr Wong.) Surely you’d take a pitch first to see if you can draw a walk…or am I wrong?

You’re right……….he’s wong. The Yankees won 6 straight before losing last night, why can’t we. I think because we’re built like a softball team and NOT a major league team designed for 2016 and beyond. Pitching + defense +contact at the plate + speed
This is the new MLB ( see K.C. ) and I blame Mo for not recognizing that sooner, even before last year. Not only do we lead all of baseball in errors, our pitching staff is 28th in swings and misses. This in an era where K’s are through the roof we have the 28th ranked team. AND when they hit it we use our league leading poor defense to make things worse. So what happens now? Well, based on recent times we sit on our hands and wait.

Up 5-0 on the Nats. Let the come back commence.

Yep, we won. But I think something was up with Scherzer. Ordinarily, I think MM would’ve take Jaime out after he gave up those coupla’ runs. But after Scherzer gave up 5? He got to stay in, so…..
Greg Garcia was lookin’ pretty spiffy today, too. He can hit, but his defense isn’t consistent. Good today, tho’.

Has anyone noticed that the Bucs have turned their issues around and have taken advantage of the Cubs recent slide?

Yep Dave, looks like Pittsburgh IS sneakin’ up on da’ Baby Bears.
Oh, and how ’bout it. Tejada lost his job to Greg Garcia. For now, anyway. Did ya’ know they’re almost exactly the same age? Well, I didn’t until I looked it up.
The Birds are up against a lefty tonite. Hope that doesn’t present a problem.

Morning sports show: In so many words, MM said if the need arises for a new starting pitcher (maybe like a fail by Wacha this afternoon?)…Lyons would get the first shot at replacing him, then Alex Reyes (specifically in that order).
Also…even tho’ he didn’t actually say it? To me, it sounded like MM is OK with the possibility of Tejada being snatched up by another team. No real surprise, since Peralta’s only a week or two away from coming off the DL….not to mention our infield is over-loaded these days, anyway.
Today, MM has GGarcia at 2B but Yadi, Wong and Diaz won’t be starting.
Boy….I sure hope Fryer can figure out how to help Wacha get back on track.

There are just too many holes now. If Kiekhefer is the best they can manage from the bullpen it will be a long season. Where is Tuivailala? It was a fairly entertaining weekend overall until he and Broxton killed today’s game.

Then there is Lyons. Remember when the bullpen was going to be a strength for the team? Good to split on the road but still lots of improvement to get near a wild card run.

Remember what I said before? Almost every time Lyons goes in, you can pretty much count on him to give up an HR.
And yer’ right, Bob. What can it hurt at this point, to bring up Tui AND Reyes? Not really much to lose. I suspect further down the road, when it seems next to impossible to even make a wild card slot? MM will change a whole BUNCH of things around.
And the Brewers won’t be a walk-in-the-park, either. Even tho’ they’re behind the Red Birds a few games? They took 2 out of 3 vs the Cubs only 2 weeks ago.
