Hope Leake can build on his last good outing. Off day for Yadi so will see if that gives the Dodgers room for running on the base paths. Good to see Diaz moved up the order (though his fielding remains a problem). And how does a .216 hitter still bat fourth?

Well you know Mathney worries more a players” sikie than the Cardinals record.

Still leading the league in errors.

Good call on Fryer’s throwing ability.

Aw, I dunno’. Fryer’s been pretty good at throwing to 2B, as I recall. No?
Also, Fryer will likely be Leake’s catcher on a regular basis….because Leake prefers to choose what pitch to throw, with no input from behind the plate.
And you’re right about Grichuk, Bob. Grichuk is clearly a plus-defender. But he’s a whiffer too. Wanna’ bet he swings when the count’s 0-2 if the situation presents itself? Hahaha….

Just heard Pham could be back as soon as this coming Tuesday.

Having to endure Dodger biased ESPN. Leake has been better but it’s a night off for the offense again. Grichuk 2 strikeouts and a groundout as “cleanup” man.

Did ya’ notice Yadi went in as soon as Leake was taken out?
And geez, Trevor almost got into some trouble again. ‘Course pitching so seldom could have sumpin’ to do with it, I suppose. Who knows…
Grichuk really needs to figure it out one of these days real soon. That’s all there is to it.

Walking AGon wasn’t the worst thing. It was the 3-1 count on their next batter that had me worried.

With Pena, Peralta, and Pham all possibly coming off the DL this month and the players who were called up to replace them all doing real well and leading in several categories, are the Cardinals looking to make any trades to get some better pitching. I would hate to see some of the young players being sent down because of the inability to send Pena or Peralta down.

Yup, good points James.
Jen’s recent article says Mo & MM are considering a few potential position switches. Peralta primarily at SS with an occasional stint at 3B & LF? Diaz rotating 2B, SS & 3B. Carp alternating at 1B? Ultimately tho’….some will argue that switching positions like that, could lead to even more errors.
And before they decide to get involved in any pitching trades….I suspect they’ll wanna’ wait until after Alex Reyes has been called up.
And heck, if Sam Tui could get a handle on the placement of his fast-balls, they could try bringing him up too.
Unfortunately, Pham isn’t being called up after all. It looks like he’ll indefinitely remain in limbo at AAA, since his replacement (Hazelbaker) is doing so well.
