Liriano always tough on Cards who need some consistency from the offense. CarMar should focus on pitching not legal problem. We’ll see.
Lackey humbling Nats. Cubs humbling Scherzer. Oh, woe

I suspect that Martinez is young enuf’ to not worry about the legal stuff, assuming Mo or whoever, will take care of it eventually. Odd lawsuit, anyway.
Watched Lackey today. Huge mistake not signing him when we had the chance. But oh well, so it goes…

Martinez may be feeling the pressure with the early exit today and collapse his last outing. Liriano is always tough against then but they seem to have so many strikeouts and such difficulty scoring against any of the top teams. outing. As things are going, wild card slot will be elusive this year.

3rd place and out of the playoffs seems to be in the Cards this year.
Questions for down the road.Who do they trade? Standing pat AGAIN won’t do.
I’d trade Holiday at the deadline. They’re not going to resign him and he may retire, so get something for him now even if its prospects. As for the rest of the line up, to me, no one is untouchable anymore………….no one!
You know, now that I think about it, even if we make the playoffs the above should be true. The T.V. money is there, time to use it. Hayward was right, age has caught us.

Twitter has the Cards and Blue Jays talking trade. Adams or Moss seems to be Jays targets. RH starter seems to be on the Cards radar. Who knows, but Jays scouts were seen at Memphis the other day.

Great game today.
A recent article suggests when Peralta’s back in early June, the Cards may alternate him at 1st & 3rd, to keep Diaz in the line-up.
Also, Alex Reyes last day of suspension is May 18th. So he’ll probably be sent to AAA Memphis on the 19th or 20th. Then, who knows if Mo & MM will wanna’ bring him up soon after that?
Wow, hadn’t heard about the Jay’s interest in Moss and/or Adams. Will be interesting to see what happens there.
As for Holliday? My impression of his comments in his most recent interviews, is that he wants to finish his career as a Cardinal, whatever it takes. Otherwise, he’ll probably retire as a player. Even kinda’ sounded like he’d like to coach or something, if he decides to quit playing.

It would be good to keep Diaz’s bat in the lineup but maybe he isn’t suitable for short stop as he error today nearly cost them the game. It was an entertaining finish and good that Freese was received so well.

Well, yeah…Diaz has had his moments. But hopefully he’ll improve his fielding as time goes by.
Funny, but pre-game, Freese wasn’t sure what KIND of reception he’d get. He didn’t have to worry, tho’. ; )

We need alot more than Peralta and Reyes.

I no longer get notified via email of new comments, even tho’ I always check both notification boxes below. Anyone else?

Sorry that is happening. It’s still working for me so far. Tech is great except when it is annoying.

Heard a comedian the other night talk about his fear of flying. Some one told him its safer than driving. His reply was…..”yeah, but when my car breaks down on the road it doesn’t fall 40,000 feet.” Hate when comedians are right.

.500 again. I guess we are what we are.

Yep, it does appear that the Cards may be lucky to even maintain the .500. Oh, well…

I guess I can understand it but rather cowardly of the Cubs to avoid pitching to Harper altogether today. A record 7 times on base with 6 walks and 1 HBP. Classless manager explains it I guess. But they will cruise to the division title it appears.

True, but black cats, goats, Bartman and alien intervention will thwart their efforts to win it all.

19 LOB, 17 by the 3-7 hitters. Says it all for this game.
