Leake looks better over all; but defense may have lost something with Holliday on first. Will have to see if the offense can pick them up off the Brewers bullpen.

I know. Holliday sometimes look awkward playing 1B. Heard a comment on KMOX tonite that Holliday wants to play ’til he’s 40, if possible…so that’s why he’s been wanting to play at 1st.
Leake had a rough nite. That’s all there is to it. Grichuk was back to whiffing again. Glad to see Moss come up with that HR, tho’.
Oh had a great outing I hafta’ say. Too bad “The Final Boss” couldn’t have pitched instead of Rosie. Trevor was throwin’ some heaters tonite, yeah. But he can also give up the occasional run & walk, too.
Wonder how that’ll work with Tejada back in the line-up, maybe Sunday?
Hazelbaker’s still at .500. Good job, Jeremy!
Cubs spanked the Reds pretty good, I see…with Lackey on the mound.
Just gotta’ do better tomorrow….

Didn’t like Rosie coming in without a save opportunity – that often seems to backfire. Looks like thw Cubs will run away from the pack from the start. Hope the offense recovers tomorrow.

You’ve got a point, Bob. Trevor’s been put in a few times before, in a non-save situation. And I think you’re right. It’s backfired more times than not.

Somewhere down the line management may entertain the idea of using Oh to close and moving Rosenthal for a bat.
Last year we ran away with the division early. This year the Cubs are trying that approach. What we can’t do is play sub-500 ball like they did for a month. We just need to play decent baseball for now and wait for their poor stretch and move then. If they never have a poor stretch then they deserve to win.

Alright….I get it. MM wants to be aggressive with base-stealing. But it’s simply not worth it. If Hazelbaker hadn’t tried to steal last nite, ultimately being thrown out? We could’ve won that game.
Same freakin’ thing today. Ugh…

Well, Dave. I can’t imagine that WE are the only ones thinking Oh can & should probably close a a few games. Or at least I hope not.
Besides…his nickname “Final Boss” wasn’t just pulled out of the air for no reason.
And I was just wondering, since I’m not one to follow other teams a lot. Are the Cards the only team playing musical chairs with their position players on such a regular basis?
