Onto Grapefruit League action

The Cardinals wrapped up the workout portion of their spring schedule with a quiet day at the complex on Wednesday. The regular workouts were cancelled by manager Mike Matheny as a reward for the intensity he felt players had been showing thus far.

Twenty-eight Grapefruit League games and a brief exhibition stop in Memphis are now all that stand between the Cardinals and their Opening Night affair in Chicago on April 5. As a preview to spring games, I proposed seven questions that the team still has to answer over the next month. You can see read those here. That is certainly not an exhaustive list, and if you’d like to add to it, I encourage you to drop your thoughts into the comments section below.

For those wanting to watch/listen to these upcoming spring games, here is a radio/TV broadcast schedule. Separately, MLB.TV is also broadcasting multiple games every day.

Now that games are starting, I will use this blog to post the morning lineups, as I have done in the past. Most of the other written content will continue to go directly to cardinals.com (not on the blog), so continue to make that a daily web stop of yours.

And let the countdown to Opening Day begin…
