Day 30: Cardinals (4-7) @ Astros (7-6)

wpid-0314141011.jpgThis is the first of a two-game stay in central Florida for the Cardinals, who will have a number of players actually stay in the area overnight in advance of tomorrow’s game in Orlando. Most of the veterans (and, of course, the pitchers) will only appear in one of these two games and will therefore bus to and from Jupiter in the same day.

If you missed the news early Thursday evening, the Cardinals sent top prospect Oscar Taveras out to Minor League camp. You can read more about the reasoning behind that move here.

This will be the third start of the spring for Michael Wacha, who is cleared to approach a pitch count of 60 for the first time this month. MLB Network will televise today’s game. First pitch is scheduled for 12:05 p.m. CT.
