July 31: Cardinals (62-43) @ Pirates (64-42)

Jenifer Langosch/MLB.com

Now 2-6 against the Pirates this season, the Cardinals will be facing one of those lefties that has given them trouble this season. Months before he would be named an All-Star, Locke shut the Cardinals out for seven innings. He allowed only three hits — the same number the Cardinals tallied in a Game 2 loss last night.

In case you missed it earlier today, the Cardinals made several roster moves this morning (story here). Yadier Molina (right knee sprain) and Shane Robinson (right shoulder strain) were placed on the disabled list. Brock Peterson and Adron Chambers were summoned from Triple-A. We should learn more later today about the severity of both injuries.
