June 30: Cardinals (49-31) @ A’s (47-35)

A win today would give the Cardinals a series victory, their first during this current stretch of Interleague games. A day after hitting his first career homer off a lefty, Matt Adams gets his first start of the season against a southpaw. Adams is 4-for-11 so far on this American League road trip. Shane Robinson also gets the start against left-hander Tommy Millone.

UPDATE: Adams’ first start against a lefty will have to wait. Adams has been battling food poisoning since eating some bad seafood on Saturday nigh,  and he was still not doing well this morning. Manager Mike Matheny said he is hopeful that Adams will continue to improve and will be available off the bench, if needed, later in the game.
