April 10: Reds (5-3) @ Cardinals (4-4)

Jenifer Langosch/MLB.com

A night after Mitchell Boggs and Trevor Rosenthal both found some redemption, both pitchers, manager Mike Matheny said, should be available, if needed, this afternoon. Though they have each pitched on consecutive days, it helped that their pitch counts were low yesterday — Rosenthal at 11, Boggs at 12.

Matt Adams — who delivered the go-ahead pinch-hit home run in the win — is back in the lineup, giving Allen Craig a day off at first base. That leaves Jon Jay, Yadier Molina and Pete Kozma as the only three Cardinals position players to start every game so far this season.

As for the weather forecast today, it looks potentially ominous for later in the day but OK for the afternoon start time. The Cardinals have been told to anticipate this game starting as scheduled.

big fan of playing Matt Adams while he is hot, and love it when all 3 Matt’s are in the lineup.
