Some more Musial notes

Jenifer Langosch/

The Cardinals, along with the archdiocese of St. Louis, have released additional details about Stan Musial’s public visitation on Thursday. That information can be found here at this link. The public visitation at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis will run from 2-8 p.m. CT.

The funeral service on Saturday will be private, but look for more information to be released later this week regarding the processional route from the service to Busch Stadium, where the family will lay a wreath at the base of the Stan Musial statue.

Also, a pair of programming notes to pass along:

  • MLB Network announced that it will air a one-hour special on Musial tomorrow at 8 p.m. CT. That program will also re-air at noon CT on Friday and Saturday.
  • Fox Sports Midwest will also be replaying its two-hour Musial special, which first aired on Monday night. It is scheduled to be shown again on Sunday at 9:30 pm CT and next Tuesday at 9 p.m. CT.

For those who have not visited it yet, let me also direct you to’s tribute page for Musial. On this page you will find life tributes, photos and videos. There is also a link for people to leave behind a message for the Musial family.

As a 10 year old boy my father took me to see the Dodgers play the Cards on a number of occasions. I was fortunate to see Stan The Man play several times and I must admit he was responsible for a number of Dodger losses. He was a great player and a greater human being. The sports world and actually the entire world will miss him.
