The White House, through spokesperson Joanna Rosholm, has issued the following statement on the death of Stan Musial.

“The President was saddened to learn of the passing of baseball legend Stan Musial. In 2010, the President was honored to award Stan “the Man” Musial the nation’s highest civilian honor – the Medal of Freedom – for his unrivaled passion for the sport and the example he set for all young Americans. The President’s thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones.”

So sorry we lost Stan “The Man” Musial. He was one of the last links to when baseball was truly America’s Pasttime and when athlete’s let their performance on the field speak for them. We will miss you Stan but your feats of the field will be remembered for generations.

He was a great person and a great baseball player.R.I.P. and my God bless you ,Stan.
